Visa Partners with Fintech Ample Earth to Incorporate Sustainability Considerations into Transactions

Visa partnered with Ample Earth, a UK-based climate fintech, to bring sustainability data into the payment ecosystem.

Through the partnership, Visa and Ample Earth aim to embed sustainability data into digital banking apps and loyalty programs. This will allow banks to better segment customers and create new ways to engage, empower, and reward sustainable choices.

Visa described the initiative as working toward “a future where sustainability is not just a consideration, but a built-in feature of everyday commerce”.

The collaboration is featured in Visa’s new whitepaper, ‘Unleashing the Potential of Sustainability Data’, which highlights how ESG factors are shaping customer behavior and influencing new payment experiences.

Ample Earth provides merchant-specific sustainability data across key social and environmental themes. By converting unstructured information into actionable insights, the company assigns eco-labels and social tags such as “Zero-Waste,” “Living Wage Employer,” and “B Corp.”

By combining Visa’s global reach with Ample’s sustainability intelligence, the partnership signals a step toward integrating sustainability data into daily decision-making, Ample Earth said, with the initiative underscoring the growing role of financial institutions in guiding consumer choices and supporting sustainable business practices.

Raja Darbari, Co-Founder & CEO of Ample Earth, said:

“Transactions are a touchpoint people interact with daily. By helping people understand the impact of their spending, we can empower millions of businesses and customers to use their purchasing power as a force for good. People don’t have time to fact-check sustainability claims, but they do want clarity and accessible information. We aim to bridge that gap and make sustainability data easy to digest and relatable.”
