Irving joins from Lazard Asset Management, where she was director of stewardship, and was also previously head of engagement at Schroders.
Jenn-Hui Tan, chief sustainability officer at Fidelity International, commented: “Stewardship is a core element of how we invest, and we remain focused on enhancing client outcomes through effective corporate engagement.
“I’m delighted to welcome Elly to the team and look forward to working closely with her. Her extensive experience and leadership in stewardship and investment-focused ESG integration will enable us to continue developing our global stewardship approach to meet evolving client needs.”
Last year, head of stewardship in Europe, Emilie Goodall, announced she was leaving the role of director of stewardship to pursue new opportunities.
