Glass Lewis Launches New Climate Strategy Assessment Solution for Investors

Governance solutions and proxy voting services company Glass Lewis announced today the launch of Climate Intelligence, a new research product aimed at enabling investors to assess the quality and effectiveness of companies’ climate transition strategies.

According to Glass Lewis, the launch of the new solution comes to address challenges facing investors as climate considerations become increasingly central to investment decision-making, yet most existing tools rely on backward-looking information such as emissions data, with the new product providing a forward-looking, investment-focused approach to integrate climate materiality into fundamental valuation and capital allocation decisions.

The new product analyzes transition risks and opportunities at the level of a company’s underlying business activities, assessing whether transition plans are credible, feasible, and investable, with coverage of 4,000 companies, according to Glass Lewis.

Diederik Timmer, President, Climate Intelligence at Glass Lewis, said:

“Investors don’t just need more climate data—they need insight into what it means for long-term value creation and retention. Our approach focuses on the real economic impact of transition: how strategic choices, capital allocation, and execution shape a company’s future performance.”

The launch Climate Intelligence forms a key step in Glass Lewis’ expansion beyond its core proxy research and voting business to provide solutions across investment research, engagement, and workflow tools and reporting. The expansion comes as proxy advisory businesses face increasing challenges, particularly in the U.S., with growing pressure from anti-ESG politicians at both the federal and state levels, and investors including JPMorgan and Wells Fargo moving to reduce their reliance on external proxy advisors.
