Alquity and Ashmore collaborate on social impact initiatives

Alquity has teamed up with Ashmore on the groups’ respective foundation work to fund social projects in emerging markets and is urging other asset managers to get involved.

The Alquity Transforming Lives Foundation (ATLF) has existed since 2015 and since then has donated $2.6m to help transform the lives of 65,000 people worldwide.

In 2025, it collaborated with the Ashmore Foundation to co-fund the R.O.L.E. Foundation project in Indonesia, providing almost $65,000 between them to empower marginalised young women with with vocational training and job placement in hospitality and digital marketing, alongside environmental education programmes. The grant will fully fund the construction of a sustainable bamboo classroom, providing a dedicated space for training and workshops that will benefit around 1,440 local students and 100 young women annually.

A statement said ATLF hopes this will be the first of many such partnerships, as it seeks to “encourage greater collaboration among asset managers to achieve deeper, more lasting impact”.

David Brocklebank, trustee and co-chair of ALTF, commented: “Everyone deserves a fair opportunity in life, no matter where they are born. By funding projects that support disadvantaged communities and sustainable economic growth, we are helping young people access the skills and opportunities to transform their futures. We are delighted to welcome these awardees into the Transforming Lives Programme, and proud to be working alongside the Ashmore Foundation as we look to build even greater impact together.”

Separately, last year ALTF also supported the Sozo Foundation in Cape Town, funding $31,905 for a coffee house that trains barista students and offers workplace exposure, and the Aspire Youth project, also in South Africa, providing $20,000 for a 20-month student programme for unemployed and out-of-school youth combining life skills, mental health support, entrepreneurship training and employment pathways.

Paul Robinson, Alquity founder and co-chair of Alquity Transforming Lives Foundation, added: “Our goal is not just to donate but to create bespoke programmes with our clients and partners that deliver direct, real-world impact. The lives transformed to date show the power of this approach, and we believe greater collaboration across the asset management industry can amplify this impact for communities worldwide.”
