EV Infrastructure Provider JET Charge Raises $45 Million

Australia-based JET Charge, which supplies and installs chargers for electric vehicles, has raised AUD $72 million (USD $45 million) in a new funding round, with proceeds aimed at supporting its buildout of EV charging infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand.

Founded by Tim Washington and Ellen Liang in 2012, Melbourne-based JET Charge supplies and installs electric vehicle chargers and infrastructure, including chargers, cables, and installation services, to home and commercial markets in Australia, with over 20,000 chargers installed to date, and recently expanded its services into New Zealand. The company operates a “Charging-as-a-Service model,” including managing and maintaining chargers for homes and commercial premises.

JET Charge said that it would use the new funds accelerate its Charging as a Service offering, and to continue its technology buildout to for the operation of EV charging infrastrucutre at scale.

Tim Washington, Co-Founder and CEO of JET Charge, said:

The investment round was led by Mirova, through its Mirova Energy Transition Fund 6 (MET6), with participation from existing shareholders the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, RACV and Kilara Capital.
