Metris Raises $5 Million to Scale AI-Powered Renewable Energy Asset Management Platform

AI-powered renewable energy asset management platform Metris announced that it has raised $5 million in a seed funding round, with the proceeds aimed at expanding the company’s platform, AI capabilities and European operations.

Launched in 2025, London-based Metris provides an AI-powered platform for renewable energy owners and operators, integrating asset data, performance monitoring, revenue management and operational workflows. The company said that it is developing a unified data layer to provide operators a clean, real‑time view of entire energy portfolios, replacing spreadsheets with a single source of truth (SSOT) to support more informed decision-making.

According to Metris, the new funding comes as most power producers continue to run their operations on spreadsheets. As the grid decentralizes, new revenue streams are emerging, such as flexibility, curtailment management, community energy, corporate PPAs, but the data needed to access, integrate and reconcile them is fragmented across dozens of disconnected systems.

Natasha Jones, Founder and CEO of Metris, said:

“Metris was founded on the core belief that the winners of the energy transition won’t be the owners of the most kW of capacity, but those who can view, control and monetise them best. There’s no unified layer that lets asset owners, or the AI agents now entering this space, actually see and act on their portfolio. That’s the gap we’re closing with Metris.

Alongside the funding round, Metris announced the launch of Metria AI, an interface designed to carry out operational tasks that were previously performed manually by operations teams.

The company said that the new capital would be used to expand the product’s AI agentic capabilities, extend the platform’s reach into wind and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems, and support its expansion across Europe, with a particular focus on Germany.

The funding round was led by PT1 Ventures, Octopus Ventures, AENU and Blackfinch Ventures, with participation from Plug and Play and Love Ventures. The company said this round brings its total funding to date to $7.5 million.

Fabian Koening, Partner at PT1 Ventures, said:

“Natasha and the Metris Energy team are building the data infrastructure that makes energy assets visible in real-time, unlocking the opportunity for AI to transform the space. Their platform is already driving down the cost of operating asset portfolios at scale and opening market access to flexible energy contracts.”
